Cortana for Android has finally gotten an official release date. Microsoft has just confirmed that they plan on bringing their famous virtual Assistant to Google’s platform in July this year.This year turned out to be really good for voice assistant software. We’ve got SoundHound’s Hound assistant, as well as Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana, which is now coming to iOS and Android. It’s a big move for Microsoft to consider other operating systems. Now, according to the tech company itself, Cortana for Android will in the Google Play Store next month. We don’t have any additional information, but the process itself will probably be longer. This is because an Android port would likely have its own set of bugs and more limited functionality, given that Microsoft had to rewrite it from scratch. Still, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing a full Cortana with as few bugs as possible, and we can’t wait to see how it holds up against its competition. This is one of the first voice assistants to work on more or less every mobile platform.
